Who is F1 Academy Driver, Chloe Chambers – the Newest Driver to Join the Red Bull Junior Programme

F1 Academy was created to give women more chances to race. The hope is that with more access to racing and the Formula 1 teams, women drivers will start to follow the Formula 1 pipeline.

The battle against gender inequality is still going strong with the Red Bull Racing Team principal weighing in. Christan Horner said, “Continuing our partnership with Ford as a title sponsor of the Red Bull Academy Programme is hugely exciting and further cements their commitment to female participation in motorsports.”

One strong driver to focus on would be Chloe Chambers. Chambers has slowly been working her way through racing series’, each more prestigious than the last. Hailing from North America, Chambers has been racing since the age of 8. With several accolades under her belt, Chambers keeps climbing the ranks.

Chloe Chambers leaves Haas for Red Bull

At the beginning of October, Chloe Chambers was announced as the new Red Bull driver for F1 Academy. She will replace Emely De Heus at Red Bull Ford, as De Heus has reached her F1 Academy limit (two seasons). Chambers will join the Red Bull Ford Academy Programme for the 2025 season. During the 2024 season, Chambers raced with Haas and Campos Racing.

As Chambers currently races under the American Formula 1 team, she is excited to be joining another team with American ties. In her announcement, Chambers said, “As an American driver, it is an honor to team up with an iconic American automotive company like Ford” (Formula 1). With two more rounds in the 2024 season, Chambers is focused on finishing out strong with Haas. She is currently ranked 4th place with 103 points.

Chloe Chambers’ racing history

When Chloe Chambers was 16, she set a Guinness World Record for the world’s fastest vehicle slalomby driving around 50 cones in 47.45 seasons. This record was set with the North American Porsche team, where Chambers was driving a Porsche 718 Spyder. At the time of setting the world record, Chambers did not even have her driver’s license, only her permit.

Since then, she has raced in several series such as the American Formula 4, the W series, the Castrol Toyota FR Oceania Championship (CTFROC), and the Porsche Sprint Challenge. Chambers was the first woman to start on pole and win a race in CTFROC.

She also has won 7 Porsche Sprint Challenges. During her F1 Academy season, she has placed on three podiums with one win in Barcelona at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. On November 7, Chambers will be taking part in Formula E’s All-Women Test for Andretti.
