Red Bull Liveries Cancelled Due to Unforeseen Issue

Since 2023, Red Bull Racing has introduced special fan-designed liveries to engage their fanbase more deeply. Through the “Make Your Mark” competition, fans were invited to submit their custom livery designs. The Austrian team selected winning entries and featured them at major races in the United States. This allowed the fans to display their talents on a bigger stage.

In 2024, Red Bull planned to continue this initiative with special liveries at the British, Singapore, and US GPs. The team showcased a fan-designed livery at the British GP but canceled the remaining competitions for the Singapore and Austin races later in the season.

Why is Red Bull canceling their custom liveries for Singapore and Austin?

In 2024, Red Bull Racing introduced the striking “Red Stallion” livery at the British GP.

Despite the bold design, the team has struggled with performance since then. Max Verstappen has only averaged fourth place in races since his last victory. The team has since decided to cancel further special liveries this season, stating that the additional paint adds weight to the car. This in turn could be affecting performance.

With both championships slipping from their grasp, Red Bull has chosen to prioritize car performance over special designs.

Although the team won’t run a special livery on the cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez anymore, the design for the Singapore GP will still see the light of day. It will be featured on F1 Academy Red Bull driver Hamda Al Qubaisi’s car instead later this week.

Red Bull’s Fan-Made Liveries in 2023

In 2023, Red Bull’s special liveries made a big splash at some of the most iconic races on the calendar. At the Miami GP, the team ran a livery that reflected the vibrant and colorful culture of the city, which fans adored.

For the Austin GP, the livery took on Americana themes, while the Las Vegas GP design included poker cards and neon-styled cash chips, celebrating the city’s iconic gambling culture. These liveries not only connected emotionally with fans but also allowed Red Bull to showcase the diversity and creativity of their fanbase.
