Charles Leclerc Makes Brutal Admission on Ferrari’s Chances of Winning in 2025

Charles Leclerc has given a damning assessment of Ferrari’s chances of winning a race in the 2025 season, following the Monégasque’s fourth-place finish at the Italian GP. Ferrari had hoped for better, but in a season where qualifying is vital, the Scuderia failed to deliver at Monza.

Leclerc believes that Ferrari doesn’t go into any race weekend as favourites and will struggle to win a Grand Prix this year, despite Lewis Hamilton winning the sprint in China. However, he has named the circuits where he expects Ferrari to be more competitive.

Charles Leclerc says there are three circuits where Ferrari can win

Charles Leclerc believes that it will be a difficult task for the Scuderia to win a race in 2025. He believes that both McLaren and Red Bull are ahead of the Italian team, but Ferrari will be closer towards the front at certain tracks.

Speaking after the Italian GP, Leclerc admitted, “Singapore, maybe Baku and Las Vegas are maybe the tracks we are a bit closer to win a race.

“But I think we are third favourites – maybe if Red Bull struggles, maybe second but never the first ones, so it will always be quite uphill and difficult.”

Leclerc has scored five podiums this season and has generally put his SF-25 where it should be. The car has lacked downforce and stability, giving the drivers less grip than their rivals. Winning a Grand Prix race this year will be tricky for the Scuderia,

How Ferrari and Charles Leclerc have nearly won races in 2025?

Ferrari will be disappointed with how the 2025 season has gone. They challenged McLaren to the final race last season, but this year, the pace has been nowhere near the Papaya team. However, the Italian giants have come close to winning Grand Prix races this season.

Ferrari’s first chance of winning came at the Monaco GP. Home hero Leclerc was looking to be on the pace of the McLarens. With overtaking near impossible around the streets of Monte Carlo, pole position could almost guarantee a race win. However, the 27-year-old was less than a tenth behind pole sitter Lando Norris. True to Monaco form, the top four remained in the same position.

The British GP was a race weekend of what could have been for the Scuderia. New upgrades on the SF-25 were working, and during the practice sessions, Ferrari looked like the team to beat. They were quick throughout the first two sessions in qualifying, but both drivers made errors in their final runs in Q3, meaning Hamilton started in P5, with Charles one place further back.

Leclerc showed his qualifying skills in Hungary, taking a shock pole position. In the first half of the race, the Monogasque looked comfortable leading from the front. However, an issue with his car dealt a blow to his chances of winning, and he slipped back into P4.

Ferrari will look to bounce back in 2026 and challenge for both titles. But where do you see the Scuderia finishing next year? Let us know your thoughts on how Ferrari will fare next term in the comment section.
