Ferrari Continue Strong Performance as Charles Leclerc Takes Pole Position for the Azerbaijan GP

Charles Leclerc has done it again! He will start from pole position for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix for the fourth consecutive year. His teammate, Carlos Sainz managed to come in 3rd while Championship leader, Max Verstappen was not able to go faster than 6th. This has set up a very exciting Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Throughout the season Ferrari’s performance has been all over the place. In the beginning, they were 2nd fastest behind Red Bull, then they fell back during the middle of the season. But now, they seem to be back on top, fighting for pole positions and race wins.

Can Charles Leclerc and Ferrari fight for the Championships?

Ferrari desperately needed to get back to the top as the season came to its final stretch. With just 8 races to go, the Championship is yet to be decided. If Ferrari dominates these final races of the season, they could win the Constructors’ Championship. Ferrari is only 39 points behind Red Bull Racing and 31 points behind McLaren.

For the Drivers’ Championship, Leclerc may be able to get 2nd place from Norris who is just 24 points ahead. But the Championship will be difficult as Verstappen is leading the Ferrari driver by 86 points.

However, with Red Bull struggling to find pace in the RB20, nothing is set in stone. Leclerc could still pull off a miracle and win the Championship if he outscored Verstappen by 10.75 points per weekend. This might sound difficult, but Verstappen’s average finishing position in the last 6 races is only 4th which only earns 12 points. So if Charles is able to win every race with Verstappen coming in 4th or even 3rd, he will have a chance to win the Championship.

Did Ferrari bring any upgrades to the Azerbaijan Grand Prix?

No, Ferrari did not bring any upgrades for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. However, they did bring a set of major upgrades for the last race in Monza. With the Italian Grand Prix being their home race, Ferrair wanted to make sure that they did well in that circuit. It is safe to say that they delivered.

Although the Ferraris were not able to qualify in the front row, Leclerc was able to pull off a race win at Monza in front of the Tifosi. Now all eyes will be on Leclerc to see if he can pull off another victory at Baku.

The threat to Ferrari will come from the McLaren. Although Lando Norris only qualified 17th, his teammate, Oscar Piastri managed to qualify 2nd. He will start in the front row alongside Leclerc with Carlos Sainz behind the pair.

The Ferraris will have to work together to secure the race win at Baku. Do you think Charles Leclerc can win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix? Post your thoughts in the comments section below.
