“It’s Not An Easy Step”: Lewis Hamilton Points Out Difficulties in Joining Ferrari for 2025

Lewis Hamilton will bid farewell to Mercedes after a twelve-year stint. The seven-time world champion announced before the 2024 season began that the Brit will move to Ferrari. Hamilton hopes the change will help him win the elusive eighth driver’s title.

Hamilton will arrive in Maranello after three seasons where he has failed to challenge for the title. The aim is to get back to the top and challenge Max Verstappen and Red Bull. However, the 39-year-old knows there will be challenges moving to the Scuderia.

Lewis Hamilton expects it to take time to settle at Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton does not expect the swap to Ferrari to be straightforward. After spending over a decade at Mercedes, he will have become comfortable with how the team works. However, the Brit is excited for the fresh challenge.

Speaking before his final race for Mercedes in Abu Dhabi, Hamilton said: “It’s a dream scenario for any driver. But it’s not an easy step to join a new team, it takes time to build relationships and learn the tools.”

Although it might take time for Hamilton to settle and adjust, he is a seven-time champion. He has moved teams before when he left McLaren to join Mercedes. He has learnt to be adaptable like a true champion. When it clicks with the Prancing Horse, it could be a great force in F1.

Carlos Sainz’s tip for Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton will replace Carlos Sainz at Ferrari. The Spaniard has spent four years in Maranello, winning four races. The Williams-bound driver had a tip for Hamilton, saying: “Enjoy it – it’s an incredible place to be part of and to drive, I believe he’ll get an incredible treatment by the Tifosi. There’s nothing better than being a Ferrari F1 driver.”

Carlos Sainz will leave Ferrari on a bittersweet note. The 30-year-old believes that Ferrari will be challenging for championships next season and it could have been his chance next season. This should give Lewis Hamilton hope that next season could be his again.
