Heading into the last round of races, we have the Las Vegas Grand Prix this weekend. Not only are the lights lit up in Las Vegas, but so is the track, as this race could be the championship decider. Between Max Verstappen finally winning again after ten races and Ferrari’s low downforce setup, the Las Vegas GP is setting the expectations of an exciting race.
This night race is the last street circuit of the season. This is the second year the strip circuit will be featured on the F1 calendar. With the circuit having undergone more changes for this year’s race, fans everywhere are waiting to see what happens. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Or does it?
Ferrari fastest on paper for Las Vegas GP
After a horrible start to last year’s Las Vegas GP, Ferrari hopes for a better race this year. Ferrari has fought hard to return after a midseason dip and is now fighting for the World Constructors Championship. Currently trailing McLaren by only 36 points, they are fighting for another Ferrari-filled podium. For the Las Vegas GP, they look like the team to beat.
The LV strip circuit has a similar setup to Monza (where Ferrari won this year). Both tracks have low-force characteristics and long straights. Last year, Charles Leclerc placed second on the podium. Could we see him on the first of this year? Or will Carlos Sainz clinch one more win before he leaves?
What Max Verstappen needs to do to clinch the WDC
The Las Vegas GP holds the power to be the current title holder’s winning race. After what has been an exciting season and battle between Lando Norris and Verstappen, we could see the title fight over this weekend. If Verstappen outscores Norris by more than 2 points, he will go on to win his fourth title. If not, the fight could go on.

For the fight to continue, Norris needs to score Verstappen out. If he does not, Verstappen wins. If neither of them gains points, Verstappen wins. For Verstappen to win his fourth WDC, he must keep Norris in his rearview mirrors. Can he pull it off?
