F3 pre-season testing comes to an end as the final day rolls by. The tests have been massively successful, especially for the new 100% sustainable fuels. They also helped the drivers get used to the new cars.
Campos Racing Goes Unchallenged for Day 2 of F3 Pre-Season Testing in Barcelona
The first day of the pre-season tests was won by Rodin and PREMA teams in the morning and afternoon session, respectively. The second day was a total domination by Campos Racing’s Nikola Tsolov.
TRIDENT takes a 1-2 in the wet morning session on the third day
The morning session of the third day was a watery start. Damp weather and a slippery track had every driver start the session on wet tyres.
Hitech’s Martinius Stenshorne set the first threshold for the day with a 1:45.844 on the board. Red flags started waving just 15 minutes into the session as Ivan Domingues spun off into the gravel. The second red flag was caused by MP driver Bruno del Pino in the same corner. Charlie Wurz also stopped further down the lap.
Nikola Tsolov took back his top stop while Louis Sharp followed him to P2. However, Sharp’s campaign didn’t last long as his car stopped at turn 4, thus bringing out the third red flag.
The red flag carnage didn’t stop there as DAMS’ Matias Zagazeta spun into the wall. Noah Stromsted and Tuukka Taponen went P2 and P3, respectively, followed by Rafael Camara in P4. Stromsted was pushed down to P3 by Laurens van Hoepen just before another red flag. This time it was Domingues who stopped into gravel.

Callum Voisin shines for Rodin in the afternoon session
The afternoon session wasn’t any better in terms of weather. Callum Voisin and Roman Bilinski led the board with a 1-2 for Rodin. However, Stromsted took P1 being 0.3s quicker.
The first red flag was caused by Nael as he came to a halt at the pit exit. Another red flag was caused by Rodin’s Louis Sharp and DAMS’ Christian Ho both running off the road. DAMS had another driver in gravel, Nicola Lacorte, causing the third red flag of the session.

Voisin, at his final lap, took the top spot with 1:39.031, which remained the top spot for the whole day. Tramnitz and Camara rounded up the top 3.
