With Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari this year, there is only one question that everyone has. Can the 7-time Champion make history by winning his 8th title with Ferrari? Now we have an answer from Hamilton himself.
On Tuesday, we saw all the 10 F1 teams including Ferrari reveal their liveries for the 2025 season. The very next day, Ferrari and their drivers took the SF-25 out on track for their first outing with the 2025 challenger. After getting a taste of what the car feels like, Lewis Hamilton gave his thoughts on whether he could win a championship with this car.
Lewis Hamilton gives his first feedback on the SF-25
After getting a taste of his new Ferrari car for the 2025 season, Hamilton spoke to the media where he was asked whether he felt that the SF-25 was capable of winning the Championship this year.
“Yes,” Hamilton replied. When further pushed to explain his reasoning, Hamilton explained his thoughts.
“I mean, I’ve worked with two world championship-winning teams, and I know what a winning team looks and feels like.
“Everyone here has the passion like nothing you’ve ever seen, and they’ve absolutely got every ingredient they need to win a world championship.
“It is just about putting all these pieces together, and we’ve got a great leader in Fred [Vassuer, team principal], and then John [Elkann, Ferrari president] and Benedetto [Vigna, Ferrari CEO].
“Everyone has a great, calm and good approach. No one is like ‘we are perfect in every area’, it was like ‘we need to elevate everywhere’ and they’re leaving no stone unturned to try and do that.”

Given Hamilton’s impressive resume with McLaren and Mercedes, there is no doubt that he knows what ingredients are required to be a Champioship winning team in Formula 1. So if the Ferrari is strong this year, we could see a Championship battle between Hamilton and Verstappen again.
However, we won’t know for sure where Ferrari stands on the grid until we get to the first race. Although there is pre-season testing coming up next week, the teams usually sandbag their cars to hide their true potential.
Ferrari’s team principal, Fred Vasseur is taking the 2025 season step-by-step, giving the team a goal for every single day of the season.
